E&T Program

A challenge for sector growth is the lack of leaders, specialists and workers to meet demand. The CRC’s Education & Training Program will establish:

  • Postdoc fellowships with research, project management and industry-focused leadership experience

  • Industry PhD (iPhD) program – students will work directly with industry partners on solving their challenges, including a 6 month industry placement, co-supervised by industry and research leaders, and coursework in entrepreneurship, team dynamics, communication, and applying nature standards, frameworks and roadmaps

  • A mid-career professional development Masters by coursework program for industry employees

  • Vocational training, at Certificate level – developed and delivered remotely and run in each state and territory

  • Micro-credential courses for onground delivery staff, corporate ESG managers, landcare officers, Indigenous rangers, regional planners, finance staff and more

  • On-site training facilities in Flagship Project locations and in larger restoration projects led by our partners.

Target Outputs

  • 60 industry PhD students all with industry experience and engagement

  • 20 new courses to train 200 students pa over 9 years, totalling 1800, in micro-credential courses for life-long learning and reskilling

  • 60 students per year, totalling 540, in VET programs.
